The Courseulles-sur-Mer fish market: the soul of the port

Located on the Côte de Nacre, between Ouistreham and Arromanches, the seaside resort of Courseulles-sur-Mer lives to the rhythm of its fishing port. A veritable local institution, its fish market is a must for anyone wanting to sample the authenticity of Calvados.

The ultra-short circuit direct from the port: forget the middlemen and opt for ultra-fresh!

In this Norman postcard setting, the sailors deliver their catch before your very eyes. It's a unique opportunity to buy your fish and seafood directly from the people who catch them. At the stalls, the sailors' wives take over to advise you, combining a smile with culinary expertise to make your meal the best it can be.

You'll find an incredible variety of products from our coasts: sole, sea bass, turbot, lobster, spiders and the famous Norman oysters with their subtle hazelnut flavour.

The Queen of Calvados: the scallop

From early October to mid-May, the scallop is the undisputed star! Normandy is the leading scallop-producing region in France. At Courseulles, they arrive daily, bearing the precious Label Rouge label, a guarantee of exceptional quality and sustainable management of the resource.
